Remembering the first time I got into the smartphones world is a difficult task. Following the latest developments coming from Android and Apple (essentially) is something that has become part of my daily life.
With it came a lot of recognised sites and video producers that specialise on the topic, and among them is Tim Schofield aka QBKing77. Here again I can’t remember the first video I came across from him, but mostly what has made me keep watching his videos and following him on social media is that he isn’t pretencious.
Following his moves, I realised that both his videos and social media presence could get an improvement, so I decided to give it a shot and here’s the result.
*Note: I am not a designer, what I do is done taking into account what looks better through my eyes and respecting some of my favourite looks with colours, spaces and more. This is a work that is mostly based on my basic multimedia design knowledge, digital narratives and editing skills. This is an experiment, my first shot at a redesign.
Logo
Tim recently implemented a triangle logo made by a designer (if I am not wrong), and although I love it, I made my own design by respecting the basic shape and implementing my redesign approach.
Video Intro
The first thing I noticed was the fact that his actual video intro takes a lot of Google’s material design guidelines, but to me it doesn’t actually fit the technological side of the channel. Here’s my shot at it, trying to implement flat elements with darker colours and a song that is more fitting.
Headers
This header is more colourful, presenting Tim’s name, tag and logo; while respecting the colours used in the logo and intro video.
I am only presenting a header size here, but Facebook, Twitter and YouTube sized headers are already done. You get the point.
Final words…
If you are a designer and have suggestions, be nice and drop them! This is my first step on a redesign and a serious approach to digital design.
If Tim is reading/watching this and wants to implement this redesign on his different channels and videos, hit me up in Twitter as @chevykmd.
